A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:

The AUS food pantry provides an extra means of support for students with financial need. While the AUS financial grants program can make an AUS education possible for many students, it does not cover all the expenses a student in need may face, such as paying for food or hygiene essentials.


 


The AUS food pantry is located opposite the welcome center, on the ground floor of the Main Building, M-G10A.


A list of suggested most-needed items that can be donated includes:



  • Canned chicken, fish and vegetables 

  • Instant rice, soups, noodles, cup noodles

  • Pastas, rice, noodles, ketchup, BBQ sauce, pasta sauces (Alfredo,
    pesto, etc.)

  • Trail mix, nuts, granola bars, fruit and nut bars, crackers,
    cookies/biscuits

  • Jelly/jam, pancake mix, salad dressings, Nutella, peanut butter

  • Breakfast cereals, long-life milk, tea/coffee

  • Chips/crisps, fruit juices (small packs)

  • Fresh fruits, yogurt, cheese, bread, eggs

  • Personal care items (i.e., body wash, shampoo, dental floss,
    deodorants, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth wash, razors, sanitary
    pads, etc.)
