Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Mental Health Awareness X Sustainability

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

AUS Sustainability was invited to participate in Mental Health Awareness Week hosted by the Office of Student Affairs. Sustainability isn't often a topic that comes up in the context of mental health, however, nutrition, health, and wellbeing are a key strategic priority for AUS sustainability and the connection could not be more clear. AUS Sustainability participated with a Gut Health = Brain Health awareness activity. Students engaged by matching foods to nutrients that play a key role in supporting both gut and brain health. The activity also focused on food versus nutrition security, the impact of climate change narratives on students, and practical steps students can take to improve their mental health daily. This event is now held annually at the university.
