A brief description of the methodology used to determine the total number of courses offered and to identify sustainability course offerings, including the definitions used and the process for reviewing and/or validating the course inventory :
The number of courses offered shown here in the STARS data is consistent with the data provided by the Office of Institutional Research to the Common Data Set, which can be found at the web link provided. In order to complete our sustainability course inventory, we first counted all courses eligible for credit within our Environmental and Sustainability Studies minor. Second, we reached out to all faculty members who had completed our faculty development training for sustainability across the curriculum for a current list of courses that met the college's sustainability course criteria. Third, we coordinated with the Office of Institutional Research to complete a data search of all courses taught within the past three years that met the keyword searches for our sustainability definitions. These three lists were then compiled, and all syllabi were reviewed to ensure they met the definitions outlined below.

How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Each offering or section of a course was counted as an individual course

A brief description of how courses with multiple offerings or sections were counted (if different from the options outlined above):
Definition of ‘sustainability- focused course’: sustainability-focused courses incorporate as a major theme one or more of the dimensions of sustainability as a lens through which students will see the relevance of the subject matter to local, national, and global sustainability issues.
