Every spring, the college hosts the Spring Annual Research Conference, or SpARC. The conference allows students to present their research and analysis to the Agnes Scott community. Sustainability has a strong presence during the conference, which has included presentations from students in the Environmental and Sustainability Studies (ESS) department courses and/or ESS internship programs.

In LEED Gold-certified Campbell Hall, sustainable signage is located throughout the building to highlight the LEED features of the building. The topics include: sustainable sites, site selection, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, indoor environmental air quality, and materials and resources. The entire green building tour for Campbell Hall can be found at the Center for Sustainability website. A complementary tour is currently being designed for a renovation project currently underway, in Rebekah Scott Hall.

The college's irrigation comes 100% from our retention pond on campus. There are signs across campus landscaping to indicate the irrigation water is pumped from the retention pond so that everyone, including the surrounding community, is aware that we are not utilizing potable water for irrigation.

On the Center for Sustainability’s website, there is information about alternative transportation methods, such as the bike share program, car share program, and reduced price public transportation passes. This information is also captured in our Comprehensive Transportation Management Plan. The Office of Human Resources also communicates this information in detail to all faculty and staff during their on boarding process.

The Center for Sustainability has developed a Sustainability Handbook, which gives both an overview of sustainability on-campus, but also ways our community can increase their sustainable habits. All new Environmental Residents receive an electronic copy of this handbook during their orientation, and this serves as the basis of their introduction to sustainability at Agnes Scott.

In order to increase the visibility of sustainability on campus, a student intern completed a video series on the renovation of Rebekah Scott Hall. This intern was tasked with: • Coordinating a plan for improving communication between the Center for Sustainability and the college community • Completing a video project documenting the LEED renovation of Rebekah Hall • Designing the best approach for a “what’s happening at Rebekah” video blog, disseminated on a bi-weekly basis • Working with the Sustainability Fellow to create additional Rebekah LEED materials for audiences including alumnae The videos that were created for this project included: Introduction to Rebekah Hall, LEED, Geothermal Energy, Student Perspectives, and Meet the Team.
