Percentage of new employees that are offered orientation and/or outreach and guidance materials that cover sustainability topics:
A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
All new faculty are offered orientation and guidance. The CTLT hosts an orientation week, during which new employees are provided training on course and syllabus design, using Moodle, as well as being introduced to the university structure and departments.
During this orientation, they are presented with the priorities of the university, and have a special session on sustainability. Typically the topics covered by the sustainability taskforce and the Center for Civic Engagement, yield the most interest. During the course and syllabus design training, new faculty are encouraged to think about topics, classes, assignments and activities that are relevant to sustainability.
