*Every spring semester there is a Sustainability Film Series, one per month the entire semester, with a panel discussion afterward.
*Every year we hold a big campus/town Earth day/week/month celebration.
*There is an energy reduction challenge pitting dorms at ASU against dorms at Western Carolina University.
*Recycle at the Rock is a student led initiative through Appalachian's Office of Waste Reduction and Recycling leading the charge of recycling at home football games. Recycle at the Rock targets students as volunteers.

Appalachian State University has major events related to sustainability. Usually, however, they are not coordinated through the sustainability office. Having said that, the sponsoring department[s] usually creates the web links to host the events. The sustainability website advertises the events on their website.
