A brief description of the program:
Arizona State University uses the Chemical Manager module of the SciQuest suite of e-commerce products. Chemical Manager tracks chemicals by Master Chemical Record, thereby ensuring that each instance of a chemical is correctly entered into inventory. Departments may declare chemicals to be surplus and available for redistribution to other departments through Chemical Manager. In addition, Order Manager in SciQuest features items available in our Chemical Stores before users can order from outside suppliers, thereby minimizing the amount of chemicals ordered. Further, all chemical orders in SciQuest, and for the few departments with an exception to the otherwise mandatory use of SciQuest, are forwarded to our Environmental Health and Safety Department for monitoring against our various safety and compliance programs. The URL below is the general site for the University’s deployment of SciQuest, called SunRISE, with RISE standing for Research Intensive System Enhancement. For security reasons, Chemical Manager itself has restricted access and is behind our firewall.
