A brief description of the institution’s community garden:
There are multiple spaces for the ASU community to get involved with gardening on campus:
Tempe Campus, around the Social Science building:
Made up of 20 plots, each of which is managed by four students as part of PPE 240. This course is supported by ASU's Facilities Management staff. This garden also is supported by a student garden club, Gardens at ASU.
Tempe Campus, outside the Adelphi residential complex:
Managed through the School of Sustainability residential community at the Adelphi complex, this garden serves residents who use the food in their meals.

Polytechnic Campus, Garden Commons:
The Garden Commons is Arizona State University’s community urban garden space located on the Polytechnic campus. As part of the University Sustainability Practices goals, the Garden Commons aims to eliminate food insecurity among ASU community members by growing and harvesting local, organic produce. The Polytechnic campus Farm Stand and surrounding food banks will benefit from the gardens harvest. ASU community members may grow their own food in the garden. The Garden Commons is available for use through classes, special events, and volunteer opportunities. ASU community members and visitors may purchase garden produce and flowers every Thursday on Backus Mall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. October-through-April, as season permits. Visit the Garden Commons Facebook page for announcements on events, the Farm Stand, and volunteer opportunities.
