A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
Data collected via Comprehensive Sustainability Survey in Spring 2019.
The survey was sent via email to approximately 50,000 of the student body. There were several email reminders over the course of the survey period and the response rate was 8% for students. Although the response rate was less than targeted, there were over 3,000 responses, and a representative sample was achieved - giving us confidence in our results at the 95% +/- 5% level.
