A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
Sustainability information is included in the New Employee Orientation (NEO) pre-show presentation to newly hired benefits-eligible faculty and staff. There are 5 slides with the following topics: 1. ASU Sustainability Goals, 2. What you can do to make an impact, 3. Sustainability at ASU social media channels and websites, 4. Become a Sustainable Sun Devil - Seeds of Sustainability training, Green Devil Training, and Green Devil Ambassador program details, and 5. Zero Waste program information.

The "Welcome to ASU" brochure includes the Green Devil Guidebook which offers information about 27 sustainability actions and programs for involvement. The Welcome to ASU brochure is online and distributed to new employees. It is located on page 5 under professional development.

Additionally, at NEO the following are reviewed and discussed:

ASU's Charter:

"ASU is a comprehensive public research university, measured not by whom we exclude, but rather by whom we include and how they succeed; advancing research and discovery of public value; and assuming fundamental responsibility for the economic, social, cultural and overall health of the communities it serves."
ASU's Goals, include:

"Enhance our local impact and social embeddedness:

Co-develop solutions to the critical social, technical, cultural, and environmental issues facing 21st-century Arizona, ensuring sustainability and resilience."
