Reason for excluding satellite campus:
The Auburn University campus in Montgomery, Alabama operates rather autonomously from the primary campus in Auburn, with separate systems and personnel for virtually every function. In addition, main campus resources for sustainability remain relatively limited, and the capacity to expand sustainability efforts and reporting beyond the primary campus boundaries does not currently exist. Furthermore, primary sustainability reporting (i.e. -- greenhouse gas inventory, bicycle friendly designation, tree campus) focuses exclusively on the main campus, so excluding AUM from STARS allows us to remain consistent with our current reporting protocol.

Reason for excluding agricultural experiment station:
The Experiment Stations and Extension Service operates rather autonomously from the primary campus in Auburn, with little overlap in management systems. In addition, main campus resources for sustainability remain relatively limited, and the capacity to expand sustainability efforts and reporting beyond the primary campus boundaries does not currently exist. Furthermore, primary sustainability reporting (i.e. -- greenhouse gas inventory, bicycle friendly designation, tree campus) focuses exclusively on the main campus, so excluding Extension offices and experiment stations from STARS allows us to remain consistent with our current reporting protocol.
