LR100 Renewable Fuel Use in Central Heating Plant
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Bates has revamped its central heating plant to burn a renewable fuel, LR100, which is waste vegetable oil. We purchase this fuel through Lifecycle Renewables, a Massachusetts-based company. We began purchasing this fuel in 2021, when we started seeing supply chain shortages of our other renewable fuel, Renewable Fuel Oil, which is a wood-based liquid fuel.
