The University President wrote letters to Senators Schumer and Gillibrand and Representative Tenney. He wrote: "As the president of a state university that prides itself on access, inclusivity and equality and as a place of higher learning that values each and every one of its students, I am writing to express my sincere concerns about the lack of a solution for those impacted by the approaching end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA)." He also wrote to Representative Tenney regarding aspects of the Tax Cut and Jobs Act that would make higher education less affordable.
