A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
The goal of the survey was to provide the administration data that gives a view of current working conditions and challenges, as well as feedback that could improve plan implementation, processes, and outcomes in the upcoming spring semester in relation to the COVID-19 response in Fall 2020. This was done by including questions about workload, satisfaction with communication, perspectives on supervision (remote and hybrid work), perspectives on implementing different safety measures, and experiences with requesting work accommodations. There were also open-ended questions for soliciting recommendations on how employees would improve working conditions, as well as other aspects of their jobs. This was done through a 28-question survey sent out via Qualtrics.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
The Evaluation Coordinating Committee that put out the survey prepared a report, organized by major themes in the responses and highlighting recommendations. This report was shared with the President and he asked the committee to present the findings at a Senior Officers Group Plus meeting. From there, the ECC and PSS had less to do with implementation, as implementing the recommendations is out of our purview, but the ECC did openly offer support to any SOG+ member interested in talking more about the recommendations. However, our limited reach with some of the recommendations didn't stop the ECC from helping where we could: since supervision was a major concern, two of our members, Sharon Bunch-Nunez and Cait Crisman, came up with the idea for a supervisory best practices handout and we have worked with the President to make a 360 evaluation program available to interested supervisors. The report on the survey and the handout have also been made public on our website.
