EcoPledge

A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
EcoPledge: Largest student-run sustainability organization at Boston College, and educates the BC Community about environmental issues by showing films, presenting lectures, and hosting annual celebratory events, like Harvest Fest, Green Week, and Earth Day. Ecopledge also runs campus-wide campaigns to promote water and energy conservation and good recycling habits. The members often go beyond the campus by participating in local community clean-ups and national environmental conferences.

Ecopledge pledges to collaborate with faculty, staff, and fellow students in campaigning for a more sustainable Boston College campus.

Real Food, Every Bite Counts, Charity Water

A brief description of the student educators program (2nd program):
Real Food: a student group devoted to food justice and sustainable agriculture. Club members operate a student-run organic garden, host cooking classes, plan speaker events, and collaborate with Boston College Dining Services to promote local and sustainable food sourcing. Real Food strives to improve food literacy and educate students about environmentally sustainable and equitable food systems.
Every Bite Counts: Redistributes leftover dining hall food to local charities.
Charity Water: Is an initiative started by students whose goal is to bring awareness of the global water crisis while raising money to support charity: water campaigns.

A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (2nd program):
Real Food: engages primarily with undergraduate students at Boston College, but also with the greater community. All students are welcome to attend garden workshops, cooking classes and speaker events. Real Food also shares garden space with some professors, have volunteers from the local community, and conduct planting workshops or garden tours for BC classes, volunteer groups, and even local preschoolers!

Climate Justice

A brief description of the student educators program (3rd program):
Climate Justice: an organization focused on the social implications of climate change. They strive to push BC to divest from fossil fuels as well as raise awareness of the injustices surrounding climate change
UGBC: Their Environmental Caucus is the division dedicated to sustainability and they often work with the higher administration to make green changes.

A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (3rd program):
Educates students and community members on the dangers of climate change and how they can be agents for change; unites with the local and national climate movement to strengthen social and political support for climate justice.

Additional programs 

A brief description of all other student peer-to-peer sustainability outreach and education programs:
UGBC Environmental Sustainability Division: A new group formed under the larger umbrella of student government on campus. The division will bring together a coalition of existing student activist groups on campus. Representatives from these groups will meet to confer, share ideas, and brainstorm different policies. Environmental volunteer corps are included and will call upon students and student leaders to carry out service initiatives in the community, such as on-campus composting and Reservoir cleanups.
