A brief description of the institution’s program(s) to encourage student research in sustainability:
The Environmental Studies Program offers multiple fellowships for students interested in exploring the field of environmental studies, and more broadly sustainability. Specifically, the program funds 1-2 “Sustainability” fellowships that provides funding for students to explore sustainability at a site of their choosing, at either domestic or international locations. The summer fellowship is intended to lay the foundation for continued research during the academic year. Past students have explored emerging alternative energy systems, environmental policy as relates to wind energy, and the role of sustainability in the context of historical renovation.
