A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate:
Pre and Post-consumer food waste from Bowdoin's dining halls is either composted or used as feed at a local pig farm. Bowdoin also has a campus wide zero sort recycling program and several Techno-trashcans to facilitate the recycling of paper, plastic, glass, electronic waste and more. At the end of each academic year the annual Give-and-Go sale sells items donated by students when they move out for the year.
