A brief description of the assessment(s):
Bowdoin’s Office of Institutional Research, along with two faculty members, have worked on a 5-year study funded by the Teagle Foundation that has provided an in-depth look at campus culture. The panel study closely followed 36 students from the class of 2010 that was oversampled on students of color. The students were interviewed 10-11 times over the five year period beginning in 2006. They were asked a range of questions about their Bowdoin experience, including a series of diversity related questions that focused on the culture of diversity and equity on campus. This study, along with others, including the annual senior exit interviews, focus on measuring the student experience and are used in shaping policy, programs, and campus initiatives.
