Does the institution offer housing options to accomodate the special needs of transgender and transitioning students (either as a matter of policy or as standard practice)?:
Yes

None
A brief description of the program, policy, or practice:
The majority of upperclassmen housing is essentially gender neutral in the sense that all of these spaces are open to whatever configurations students choose. One-bedroom doubles are different in that students need to reserve the option on their Housing Intent Form to select this style housing in the Housing Lottery if they are not the same gender. Bowdoin does not allow mixed-gender triple bedrooms. The Office of Residential Life ensures that transgender and transitioning students with special rooming and/or bathroom needs are accommodated. The attached document is posted on Bowdoin's Resource Center for Gender and Sexual Diversity website http://www.bowdoin.edu/queer/index.shtml
