A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
Every month, or as needed, there is a new employee orientation which includes a segment describing sustainability initiatives at Bowdoin, such as Bowdoin's Carbon Neutrality Commitment. This orientation also educates new employees on using Bowdoin's zero sort recycling program, the Zipcar program, the Building Dashboard energy monitoring system, and other green initiatives on campus. Each year there is also a new faculty orientation which covers the same topics. New faculty and employee orientations no longer include a bound paper employee manual, considerably reducing paper usage.
