Bowdoin and other colleges in Maine have collaborated annually to conduct an inter-institutional recycling competition called Recyclemania. Anther collaborative event is the Building Dashboard Energy Conservation Competition which Bowdoin participated in along with many other schools across the country.

The Coordinator for a Sustainable Bowdoin meets with the Green Campus Consortium (GCC) of Maine every 2 months and with the Northeast Campus Sustainability Consortium monthly. The GCC plans professional development courses that focus on student engagement, campus construction, and garnering administrative support.
