A brief description of the graduation pledge program:
In 2006 Bowdoin students began a green graduation pledge that lasted for several years, but has since ended. The student driven graduation pledges focused on continuing environmental and social responsibility in future jobs and decisions.
The Class of 2012 had 25% of its graduates serving in explicitly socially and environmentally responsible positions. When including teaching, cancer research in laboratories, and disease research, the percentage increases to 41%.
