A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
All benefits-eligible staff and faculty and their household members are eligible to use the services of the Employee Assistance Program. Through an outsourced Employee Assistance Program (EAP), the College provides free, confidential counseling services including debt, childcare, and eldercare to all benefits-eligible employees and members of their immediate families. With the EAP anyone eligible is entitled to four free visits in each of the above categories. Bowdoin completely or partially covers the cost for employees at a number of local smoking cessation programs. Bowdoin maintains a robust fitness and wellness program that the College subsidizes so that staff pay a reduced rate for wellness and fitness classes.
