A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:
Founded in 1794, Bowdoin College is a small, undergraduate liberal arts college located on a semi-urban campus, just outside of the Brunswick, Maine downtown area. The main campus is made of mostly traditional, older buildings centered around a main quad. It consists of academic buildings, student housing, athletic facilities, libraries, and organic garden fields. Bowdoin also owns research facilities on Orr's Islands in Harpswell Maine, and on Kent Island, Canada, which are included in the institution's boundary. The Outing Club's cabin in Monson, Maine, is not included in the institutional boundary.

The Outing Club at Bowdoin College has access to a cabin in northern Maine. The cabin is not connected to the electrical grid; therefore, occupants use firewood and derivatives as a source of energy. This feature was not included within the boundary due to the cabin’s remote location and its exclusivity to the Outing Club at Bowdoin.
