A brief description of the sustainable operations and maintenance policy/program and/or O+M rating system(s) used:
As noted in OP-3, BYU strives for LEED-like operations and maintenance, achieving much of the benefit of LEED without the added costs of certification. Its O+M policies and programs are dispersed but comprise environmental health and safety (see OP-1 and OP-20), risk managment, heating and cooling (see OP-1), natural and artificial lighting (OP-5), building envelopes and rooftops (OP-2), integrated pest management (OP-9), building care, water use (OP-21), and more. Energy efficiency projects are ongoing, as mentioned in OP-5 and OP-11. So are water conservation projects involving fixtures, appliances, and plumbing. These policies and programs will be consolidated and updated as BYU pursues its 2030 sustainability objectives.
