A brief description of the graduate-level degree program:
Bryant's MSGES qualifies graduates with technical backgrounds to understand and address international challenges from a sustainable systems perspective, and prepares those with business backgrounds to develop intervention skills for dealing with environmental management problems.
Students work directly with research faculty in a multidisciplinary department, to develop skill sets and perspectives that can be valuable in different professional settings.
One graduate of this program is completing a PhD at a research institute in Holland modeling climate change scenarios, a second graduate is employed at Hanna Instruments in Rhode Island, where she designs instrument applications for customers and trains new employees worldwide, while a third graduate has assumed a leadership role in a municipal Parks & Recreation Department. A current student oversees a large watershed protection program and has led a major statewide citizen response to the siting of an electrical generating facility in a rural location in northern Rhode Island. in northern Rhode Island. Three graduates have earned a Certificate of Graduate Studies (CGS) in Sustainable Practices.

Bryant's CGS in Sustainability Practices is designed to serve professionals with technical backgrounds to understand and address international challenges from a sustainable systems perspective or to serve recently matriculated undergraduates with entry skills for dealing with environmental management challenges or addressing climate change realities (coastal resiliency, forest protection, renewable energy implementation, etc.). The program encompasses a global perspective. Certificate students complete an in-depth project, either as part of a research course, or as a community or university project.
