Bryant University works in partnership with the Town of Smithfield Department of Public Works on the E-Waste Drive event. This was suspended in 2020 due to the pandemic, but the event was reenacted in 2022. A collection area is established in a location that is easily accessible for both Bryant faculty, staff and students along with residents from Smithfield.

During spring commencement each year, when upperclassmen are moving out of their town houses, Bryant hosts a "Green Move Out" in collaboration with the Rhode Island Food Bank and Goodwill. The Food Bank helps to collect unopened food items that would otherwise be thrown in the dumpster and eventually the Rhode Island landfill. Equipped with a 77,000-square-foot facility, a fleet of trucks and a professional staff, the Food Bank safely and efficiently moves nearly 200,000 pounds of food out its doors each week. Goodwill provides bins to collect clothing and other household items for resale in their retail locations.

The Bryant University campus is mostly undeveloped. The Bryant Grounds team cut walking trails through two distinct sections of wooded areas on campus. There are approximately 2 miles of marked trails on campus that are easily accessed by both Bryant and the Smithfield community members. Signage on the trails identify native species in the wooded areas and the vernal pools.
The trails are now maintained by the grounds team at Bryant. Each spring, groundskeepers travel on the trails to clear fallen branches, check for exposed tree roots that pose a safety risk and check general conditions for the users.
