Bucknell completes ongoing cyclical comprehensive staffing reviews in each department across the university. We heavily rely on external, market data from reliable objective surveys and other data sources as well as internal equity. Market data is refreshed each year and reviewed for each staff member in each position annually, and market adjustments are provided as needed. We review the US Department of Health and Human Services guidelines each year to help to inform our minimum pay. We update this data in the fall of each year. Here is the link to what we historically have used and continue to use in conjunction with market data: https://aspe.hhs.gov/2018-poverty-guidelines, and you'll note that the poverty guidelines for a family of four last year was $25,100 divided by 2,080 annual hours is the same as the MIT poverty guidelines of $12.07 for a family of four. We rounded this up to $12.10 for 2018-2019.
