A brief description of when and why the workplace health and safety baseline was adopted (e.g. in sustainability plans and policies or in the context of other reporting obligations):
The EH&S office was re-organized in 2014 due to retirements. By 2015, three new employees were responsible for the University’s EH&S functions, with that it seemed fitting to use 2015 year as a baseline.

A brief description of the institution’s workplace health and safety initiatives, including how workers are engaged in monitoring and advising on health and safety programs:
Bucknell University maintains a full time office dedicated to workplace health and safety. Basic information can be found at the link provided. Additionally, two members of the EH&S office assist with sustainability efforts on campus, including waste minimization, recycling, composting and chemical selection. Additionally, the EH&S office chairs a monthly safety committee with 20 members from across campus with it’s mission to promote a safe working environment for each employee by creating and maintaining an active interest in safety by each employee and to assist in the overall effort to minimize the frequency of accidents in the workplace.
