A brief description of the institution’s program to support employee volunteering:
BBU actively promotes a culture of volunteering among its community members through vibrant programs offered every semester. As a socially responsible institution, we value the engagement of our community members in supporting social causes that resonate with them, and we extend our support to facilitate their involvement in such endeavors.
Volunteering yields manifold positive effects. Beyond the act of helping others, it fosters a sense of community, enables the acquisition of new knowledge and skills, mitigates stress, and, undoubtedly, bolsters confidence.
Annually, our university hosts the BBU Volunteering Week, spanning five days dedicated to visiting various civil organizations and providing support in designated tasks. The overarching goal of this initiative is to empower our students, alumni, and staff to discover causes or organizations they resonate with, fostering continued support beyond BBU's direct involvement. In addition to this week-long event, we offer diverse volunteer programs throughout the year to ensure that individuals eager to contribute always find initiatives aligned with their values.
Moreover, we organize Volunteer Day annually for our staff, providing them with an opportunity to engage in community work and participate in awareness-raising programs. In 2022, our volunteer efforts contributed nearly 500,000 HUF in moral contributions to society, underlining our commitment to making a positive impact on the community.
