A brief description of the institution’s sustainability projects fund:
Food Enterprises Achieve Sustainability Together- FEAST Fund supported by Bon Appetit, Butler's food service provider:
This fund allow Butler University and Bon Appetit to achieve our shared sustainability goals through providing collaborative food sustainability initiatives and projects on campus. Bon Appetit invites students, classes, and entities such as the Farm at Butler to partner with us to increase sustainability on issues related to food, and then feast upon the innovative and creative ideas that come about as a result. We chose FEAST so we can focus not just on funding but also on celebrating these collaborations and partnerships through the applicants’ presentations, winners’ plaques, and year-end awards and celebratory dinners.

A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:
A committee of Butler faculty, staff, students, and Bon Appetit staff (campus dining provider) convene to review and decide on applications on a rolling basis. Members include people across campus that can provide specific feedback on feasibility of projects. If needed, members will request applicants to revise project prior to approval. This committee fills out a rubric based on each project. Successful proposals are funded and implemented by applicants.

Butler University also has a Green Fund for campus sustainability projects supported by student fees through SGA. Anyone from the campus community can apply for funding for campus sustainability projects that benefit students and the campus. Applications are reviewed by the SGA Sustainability Advisory Committee, a group of sustainability-minded students mentored by staff and faculty. Applicants fill out a proposal, present to the Green Council, and if successful, are awarded funding to implement their sustainability project or initiative.
