Standard building temperature setting is Cool to 78° and Heat to 68°, but may adjust according to operational needs. New and replacement interior lighting standard uses LED lights with occupancy sensors lighting controls that are integrated with HVAC zone controls to turn down conditioned air in vacant spaces.

A brief description of Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting and other energy-efficient lighting strategies employed by the institution:
New and replacement lights for all general interior and exterior lighting needs are standardized to utilize LED light source.

A brief description of passive solar heating, geothermal systems, and related strategies employed by the institution:
At the Center for Regenerative Studies passive solar heating, plus passive cooling and ventilation strategies are employed to demonstrate and educate the use of such alternate heating and cooling strategies. Solar heating is also employed for the pools.

For new and replacement equipment, university has standardized on using premium efficiency motors & pumps, high SEER rated HVAC equipment, and Energy Star rated equipment. University has also initiated retro-commissioning on variety of existing academic facilities.
