A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
Notice & Respond, operated through Student Health, is a training to prepare the Cal Poly Pomona community in recognizing students in distress and knowing how to respond. Participants will gain knowledge of warning signs, responding to these signs, and resources/referrals by examining different perspectives and situations. The training is 60-90 minutes and involves viewing a filmed scenario and discussion. After participating, faculty, staff, and students will be better able to recognize others in distress and will have the tools to help them connect with resources.
EAP provides contact information for a variety of resources that offer assistance regarding issues including, but not limited to:
-health concerns
-addictive behaviors
-abuse
-interpersonal relationships (spouse, partner, co-workers, etc.)
-elder care
-legal and financial assistance
There are also additional campus resources such as:
-Bronco Fitness Center
-Campus Police
-Childcare
-EAP Confidential Hotline
-Housing Assistance
-Human Resources
-Organizational Development & Training
-Stop Violence Office: resources for Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Stalking
-Transportation/Rideshare Program
