A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
All new employees attend the new employee orientation that includes presentations on the university's Basic Needs Program, transportation options, diversity and inclusion programs, environmental health and safety, and more. New employees learn about opportunities to donate food items, toiletries, and gently used clothing to the Dolphin Pantry and Ekho Closet to support students in need. Employees also learn about the free bus pass program, carpooling program, and other alternative transportation options for commuting to campus. Additionally, employees receive information on housing available in the University Glen housing community located directly adjacent to the campus.

The Sustainability & Energy Director presents a section on campus sustainability policies and programs during each New Employee Orientation. The section includes information on the single-use plastics policy, the CSU sustainability policy, how to properly sort waste, sustainable commuting options, and other ways to engage with and contribute to sustainability on campus.
