CSU Channel Islands is a member of AASHE and a member of Second Nature's Climate Leadership Network. Additionally, the campus is a member of the Talloires Network, an international association of institutions committed to strengthening the civic roles and social responsibilities of higher education. Two goals of the Talloires Network that relate to sustainability are to foster partnerships between institutions of higher education to increase the relevance of higher education, and facilitate the creation of regional networks of universities dedicated to civic engagement and sustainability.

CSU Channel Islands collaborates regularly with the 22 other campuses in the California State University (CSU) system to share successes, challenges, best practices, and other resources to advance sustainability on campus. The Energy Officers and Sustainability Officers for each of the 23 CSU institutions coordinate monthly calls, quarterly meetings, and manage email groups to facilitate ongoing communication and collaboration.

CSUCI's Sustainability & Energy Director co-hosted the Sustainability Offices of One Networking Session during the 2021 AASHE Conference, bringing together sustainability officers to share the challenges encountered by offices of one and discuss possible strategies and solutions for success.
She also participated in a panel during the This Way to Sustainability Conference in March 2021. The "CSU Sustainability Officers Panel: Sustainability Programming throughout the CSU" featured sustainability officers from several CSU campuses discussing the opportunities, challenges, innovations, and lessons learned.

CSUCI's Sustainability & Energy Director participated in AASHE's Peer Mentorship Program in 2020. Through this program, the Director collaborated with the partner institution to share general guidance, support and advice.
CSUCI is also a member of the Talloires Network, an international association of institutions committed to strengthening the civic roles and social responsibilities of higher education.
