Aramark’s Farm to Institution Manager created a report of all food and beverage purchases from CSUDH’s vendors and distributors for the appropriate time frame, along with a summary of purchases that meet STARS 2.2 standards for plant-based and/or ethically produced by third party verification. Aramark’s Sustainability Director for the West Region analyzed data that was missing from the initial report to find additional purchases that met STARS 2.2 criteria.

Aramark/Urban Mosaic Food Co. aims to purchase local, seasonal, and responsibly raised, grown and sourced products whenever possible. We firmly believe responsible sourcing has a direct impact on people, animals, the environment, and our local community, and our priorities are outlined in our ESG strategy “Be Well. Do Well.” Aramark’s global commitment to animal welfare and sustainable seafood throughout the supply chain is shifting the marketplace on products we feature regularly at CSU Dominguez Hills, like Cage Free eggs, American Humane certified poultry, and sustainably certified seafood.
