A brief description of the assessment process and the framework, scorecard(s) and/or tool(s) used:
CSUDH Institutional Research division surveys and tracks programs and activities related to diversity (employee and student) and student success. The other centers (e.g. Rose Black Resource Center) and associations also conduct special assessments for specific diversity issues (e.g. representation of black faculty on campus, assessments on cultural sensitivity, etc.) as does the Academic Senate (e.g. Campus Climate Survey).
In addition, the newly appointed Vice President of Diversity Equity and Inclusion launched a campus-wide Listen, Learn, and Act Initiative in fall 2022. This provides facilitated listening sessions for students, faculty, staff, alums, and the broader community to identify initiatives and group conversations that will enhance the Toro experience on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The findings show that most faculty feel that diversity is supported and that there is adequate representation. However, there could be better resource support in terms of infrastructure and certain ethnic groups are being better supported than others. This will influence the types of initiatives pursued by the Academic Senate and upper administration as a result.
