Name of the institution’s featured sustainability program, initiative, or accomplishment:
Central Utility Plant Replacement Project

A brief description of the institution’s featured program, initiative, or accomplishment:
This project will provide much needed upgrades to the university's central utility plant. This project will provide energy efficient and reliable heating and cooling to the campus. Renewable energy generation and energy conservation measures will be implemented. Solar panels have been installed on campus, which means 20% of campus energy will come from renewable energy sources. This will reduce the university’s carbon emissions by more than 7 metric tons per year. All of this will reduce the university's energy footprint by more than 30%, which will no longer make Fresno State the largest energy consumer in the Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) service area. As part of this project, a human behavior audit was conducted on the campus community to understand how to best implement energy conservation outreach efforts.
