COVID-19 Prevention Program:
3.6. Cleaning and Disinfection
Frequently touched surfaces and objects are regularly cleaned by custodial staff using commercially available products (e.g. soaps or detergents) approved by CSUF. Frequently touched surfaces include doorknobs, elevator buttons, handrails, handles and bathroom surfaces. Employees will be provided cleaning products and adequate time to clean surfaces in their work areas.
3.7. Engineering Controls
CSUF shall operate its buildings to maximize, to the extent feasible, clean air (outdoor and filtered) ventilation (based on guidance from ASHRAE, CSU Mechanical Review Board and CA Higher Education COVID-19 safety guidance). CSUF shall maximize ventilation with outdoor air, install the highest level of filtration efficiency compatible with the existing ventilation system, and implement the use of portable or mounted High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtration units, or other air cleaning systems, if evaluation determines they are needed.

CSUF operates and maintains all buildings with a keen focus on energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor environmental quality, and responsible waste management. Additionally, the university follows Executive Order 987 from the California State University Chancellor's Office that establishes guidelines for operating and maintaining existing buildings to be efficient, healthy spaces for all learners.
