A brief description of the institution’s WRC or FLA membership, including the year membership was last established or renewed:
California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is committed to conducting its business affairs in a socially responsible and ethical manner. CSULB values the welfare of the diverse people who help to manufacture the products that contain our brand image and trademarks. As such, we require all manufacturers of products bearing CSULB’s trademarks to strictly adhere to a Code of Conduct prohibiting abusive and unfair labor conditions. Additionally, CSULB requires all of its licensees to publicly disclose the names and locations of factories that manufacture our trademarks. Licensees are subsequently required to subject their factories to an independent monitoring of factory labor conditions through two organizations with which CSULB is affiliated: The Fair Labor Association dedicated to protecting workers’ rights around the world; and Sumerra, a global service provider in social responsibility, health and safety, and environmental sustainability.
