The Long Beach Water Department’s (LBWD) Certified Blue Restaurant (CBR), program supports and recognizes Long Beach-area restaurants and dining facilities that have achieved exceptional water efficiency.
The certification entails a no-cost, on-site efficiency survey, free water efficient devices such as spray heads and faucet aerators (if eligible), and an assessment for other possible rebates on larger equipment like ice machines and dishwashers.
As part of the certification, our dining halls meet all of the criteria below:
• Kitchen hand sinks: 0.5 gallon per minute (GPM) or lower
• Dishwasher: Energy Star certified
• Toilets: 1.6 gallons per flush (GPF) or lower
• Restroom faucets: 0.5 gallon per minutes or lower
• Pre-rinse spray valves: 1.1 gallons per minutes (GPM) or lower
