The Beach Pathways program encourages applicants from targeted communities based on low socioeconomic status and historically low rates of college going to submit supplemental materials for a holistic admissions review. A limited number of applicants will be admitted based on community involvement/leadership, overcoming significant hardship, and potential for degree completion.
Educational Talent Search (ETS) targets high school and middle school students for college admission and financial aid.
Upward Bound (UB) provides high-school senior participants support through FAFSA application assistance; scholarship searches and scholarship application assistance; and a minimal scholarship, based on the participants' need.

A brief description of notable policies or programs to support non-traditional students:
TRiO and Migrant Programs offer six innovative, federally-funded, student-centered programs designed to meet the needs of traditionally underrepresented individuals in higher education. These programs help students advance through the academic process from middle school to baccalaureate programs.
CSULB is also proud to support veteran and military affiliated students through our Veteran Services Office. The Veteran Services Office helps service members, veterans, and eligible dependents access the educational benefits they earned by serving in the armed forces of the United States.
