ScholarWorks is a suite of open-source systems for managing, preserving, and providing access to the unique digital collections of the CSU: It includes electronic theses and dissertations, faculty research publications, open educational resources, digitized historical materials
tools to support scholarly publishing, including open-access journals. ScholarWorks is supported by the Cal State Chancellor's Office Systemwide Digital Library Services in collaboration with the CSU Libraries.

A policy was being considered by the Faculty Personnel Policies Council (FPPC), a subcommittee of the CSULB Academic Senate back in 2020. No update on progress toward that goal.
