The Office of Inclusive Excellence and Sustainability at CSUMB has an Instagram page dedicated to creating a culture of inclusive sustainability for all students and all people. This page is focused on posting a variety of campus events and outside events promoting sustainability as well as opportunities for students to engage with sustainability via our page or other ways on our campus. We work to foster a culture of sustainability at CSUMB; engaging students, staff and faculty in campus sustainability efforts; and providing campus-wide advocacy for sustainability. We provide information about why sustainability matters and support for taking steps to live and work more sustainably.

There is signage on campus near the library regarding the Fog Collection Project. The collection of water from fog offers a unique opportunity to engage with an environmental feature endemic to the Monterey area (fog). Worldwide, numerous countries capitalize upon the presence of fog to produce potable water in regions that receive little rainfall. In some cases entire communities utilize fog water to meet their basic needs.

Secondly, our campus has signage regarding the laundry to landscape program. Laundry to Landscape is a greywater system that was developed in an effort to help conserve water on campus. Greywater is wastewater from homes or offices that is not contaminated by human waste, that, after treatment, can be used for toilets, landscaping, or other non-potable uses.

Finally, our campus displays LEEDS signage on qualified buildings.
There is signage near all trash receptacles to remind people to recycle/compost appropriately. Some have additional information about the impact of not recycling or recycling incorrectly.
