A brief description of the institution’s formal community partnership to advance sustainability (3rd partnership):
Carleton University is pleased to announce an exciting new project that will allow the university to participate in the community through responsible citizenship and support our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our operations. We have partnered with EnviroCentre to become the newest member of Carbon 613. With this commitment, we have joined a network of organizations throughout the region, including The City of Ottawa and the OCDSB, working together to reduce our carbon emissions and demonstrate that sustainability is in a business’ best interest.
As a Carbon 613 member, we committed to reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, as outlined in our recent Energy Master Plan and over the next three years, we will develop a baseline and set ambitious but realistic targets for greenhouse gas reductions. It is with collective support, commitment and engagement that we can achieve this.
