Carnegie Mellon University's Steinbrenner Institute for Education and Research provides small grants to students, staff and faculty for the development of formal and informal environmental education programs. The Steinbrenner Institute SEED (Steinbrenner Institute Environmental Education Development) Fund supports small projects related to informal and formal environmental education on campus.

Small grants (up to $7500) to support SEED projects are available. Applications are accepted on a ‘rolling’ basis and the criteria for application include the following:
1. Funding might be granted for projects, activities, events or conferences,
2. Students must be involved in the program,
3. Matching fund must be demonstrated.
