*The number of graduates covered by the sustainability learning outcomes is difficult to compile, as while many departments offer sustainability related courses, the undergraduate and graduate curricula may not include specific sustainability learning outcomes. Two departments that have specific sustainability learning outcomes in their undergraduate curricula are the School of Architecture (50BS graduates in 2011-2012) and Civil and Environmental Engineering (45 BS graduates in 2011-2012). These are examples and the total number should be viewed as a lower bound. Carnegie Mellon University offers many courses and programs that can be required by certain departments or can be taken by students voluntarily as electives or as non-credit classes. As such, scope of measurement for this criteria proves to be infeasible to track and record.
