LEED Certified Buildings- Climate Action Plan/ Master Plan
Cascadia will strive to minimize new sources of emissions by controlling the physical growth of the campus and utilizing technology to provide distance learning options for students. Whenever possible the College will reuse or renovate existing space to meet emerging needs. Design of physical space will be done with an emphasis on function and efficiency, and will be done according to LEED standards.- Climate Action Plan

Buildings to be oriented on the East/ West Axis for passive solar energy- Master Plan
"Cascadia will continue to maintain heating and cooling standards that balance the goal of minimizing energy use with the comfort and productivity of building occupants in the Winter academic spaces will be heated to 66 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit and in the summer months buildings will be cooled to between 72 and 78 degrees.
Cascadia will continue to purchase Energy Star certified new appliances and electrical equipment when available. Energy Star products are classified by the EPA as having superior energy efficiency.
Cascadia will include the purchase of renewable energy in its energy mix.
Cascadia will pursue the development of solar power as a supplemental source for campus energy generation by implementing pilot projects to evaluate their effectiveness in the College’s total energy mix and to provide educational opportunities for our students as part of classroom instruction and research projects."- Climate Action Plan

Yes
A list or sample of the measurable sustainability objectives that address Grounds and the published plans in which each objective is included:
"Cascadia will continue to be a Pesticide-free campus -- outside contractors must follow the same ban; replaced by worm compost, organic fertilizers and organic herbicides.
Cascadia will continue to require custodial use of Green Cleaning Products (green-seal-certified) by the UW Bothell facilities staff which maintain the College’s facilities.
Cascadia will prioritize the selection of recycled materials for bike lockers, outdoor tables/benches, wetlands boardwalk, etc.
Cascadia will continue to collect and compost pre- and post-consumer food waste, foodservice paper and unbleached napkins, and leaves, grass clippings, and appropriate landscape debris.

A list or sample of the measurable sustainability objectives that address Transportation and the published plans in which each objective is included:
"As the campus enrollment increases, transit groups such as Sound Transit, Community Transit, and Metro will consider increasing service to campus when planning new bus routes or expanding existing service. There are no existing funded plans to extend Sound Transit’s Link light rail to Bothell, but concept plans identify the I-405 corridor as a potential longterm (beyond 2030) corridor for rail service. "- Master Plan
"For traveling off campus, the Sammamish River Trail and Burke Gilman Trail are widely-used regional trails and allow cycle access to the UW Seattle campus in less than an hour. Downtown Bothell is easily accessed via the Town-Gown Loop within a 10-15
minute walk."- Master Plan
"Bicycle parking and lockers are in high and increasing demand. Future buildings will provide bike parking convenient to building entries yet reasonably consolidated."- Master Plan
"Promoted alternative transportation and commuting behavior changes by increasing parking daily rates by $1 and reducing quarterly UPASS rates by $27."- Climate Action Plan
"Reduce carbon emissions 15 percent below 2005 levels by 2020, 36 percent below 2005 levels by 2035 and through improvements in campus operations, energy conservation and alternative transportation strategies."- Climate Action Plan

Water
Yes
A list or sample of the measurable sustainability objectives that address Water and the published plans in which each objective is included:
"Many of the institutions’ practices are connected to the wetlands and help to reinforce its value, such as environment-oriented courses that study the natural landscape, managing all stormwater within the campus boundary through visible stormwater swales and features, and using environmentally-sensitive methods to maintain buildings and the landscape. The adjacent collage highlights current sustainable practices including compost and worm bins, stormwater features, and students learning in the landscape. "- Master Plan
"the split system which collects “dirty” water from roads and parking lots, treats it in above ground swales and underground vaults, and disperses the treated water to the wetlands. It collects “clean” water from roofs and the landscape, reuses some for irrigation and domestic grey water use, and disperses the remaining clean water to the wetlands. Figure 31 illustrates the proposed stormwater system expansion."- Master Plan
"Existing building HVAC (potentially excepting CCC-3) is based on conventional mixed air variable volume hot water reheat designs making use of custom housed air handlers and parallel fan power boxes for perimeter zones. Temperature controls are Johnson Controls Metasys system throughout campus."- Master Plan
"Downsizing of water meters"- Climate Action Plan
"Installation of wells for non-potable water use"- Climate Action Plan
