Research Inventory
Inventory of the institution’s sustainability research:
Please see the attached file.
A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:
The Total Number of Employees that Conduct Research figure was counted as the total number of faculty for which research is considered in tenure or promotion. Adjunct faculty are not adjudicated based on research performance, so they were not included in the Total Number of Employees that Conduct Research figure, nor were they included in screening for Sustainability-Focused Research.
Faculty that qualify under the above criteria were surveyed for their research participation and research topics. The College's Sustainability Specialist reviewed responses, cleaned response data, and validated entries where possible.
To identify sustainability research, faculty were instructed to mark whether their research directly addressed one of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Sustainability research was defined as research that looks to address at least one of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and features a focus on the interconnection of socio-economic and ecological issues.
