Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Ball Aluminum Cups
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
The College has started using reusable and infinitely recyclable Ball Aluminum Cups. These cups, which are custom-branded for Catawba College, serve as an alternative to plastic cups and bottles at events like the Center for the Environment speaker series, watch parties for Catawba athletics, student affairs events, and development events.
The College has begun using these at on-campus events to reduce single-use plastic waste. At all events where the Ball Aluminum Cups are used, attendees have the option to place them in a return bin to be washed and reused, they can take the cups with them to use for themselves, or the cups can be recycled, as a last resort.
